Mid-Season COVID-19 Update

As case numbers continue to climb in Gallatin county, we’ve been revisiting our protocols and precautions to limit the spread of COVID-19. The following is an up to date list of our COVID-19 protocols:

BYEP will:

  • Continue to require mask-wearing at all times at BYEP HQ and in our vehicles. If a program participant or visitor to the building does not have a mask, one will be provided. When outdoors, mask-wearing is required if individuals are not able to practice social-distancing.

  • Continue to adhere to social distancing guidelines to 6 feet distance between individuals.

  • Continue to sanitize highly-touched surfaces, workshop rooms, shared community spaces, and vehicles on a daily basis.

  • Continue to request that staff, mentors, and participants stay home if they are sick.

  • Continue to document attendance in our vehicle logs, in the event we need to provide contact tracing data to the Gallatin County Health Department.

  • Continue to restrict the use of shared community spaces.

  • Continue to provide individual pre-packaged snacks for program participants.

  • Continue to limit visitors in order to keep our building safe for participants.

  • Continue to fill vehicles only to 50% capacity.

When to stay home from BYEP:

1. If you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, please stay home for 14 days from the date of suspected exposure.

2. If you are awaiting your own COVID-19 test results. If you are unable to get a COVID-19 test, please stay home from BYEP for 14 days from the date of suspected exposure.

3. If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (including fever of 100.4 °F or greater, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, nausea, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, vomiting, etc. within the past 7 days).

4. If you or someone you live with have tested positive for COVID-19.

If a youth, volunteer, or staff member is suspected to have COVID-19, we will immediately isolate (away from other youth, volunteers, and staff) and send home as soon as safely possible and recommend a test for COVID-19 prior to returning to BYEP.  If needed, provide the health department a list of individuals that were in contact with the symptomatic person at BYEP

If you are staying home from BYEP for a COVID related reason please communicate this with your Program Manager or Program Director, Brittany DeKoch, (970) 231-4809!

WE ARE COMMITTED TO PRIORITIZING THE HEALTH AND SAFETY OF OUR PROGRAM PARTICIPANTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. WE WILL CONDUCT WEEKLY EVALUATIONS OF THE COVID-19 SITUATION AND KEEP YOU INFORMED. OUR DECISIONS WILL CONTINUE TO BE INFLUENCED BY CDC AND GALLATIN COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATIONS. BYEP WILL CONTINUE TO MAKE DECISIONS IN THE BEST INTEREST OF OUR KIDS, STAFF, AND VOLUNTEERS.

Thank you for masking up!
