The Slow Reopening Begins...and a Free Windhorse Opportunity
Dear parents and guardians of our amazing BYEP youth!
Yesterday marked the first day that we have had youth in our new building. How we have missed those smiling faces (albeit covered by masks)! All of the hard work from the team to create a safe experience, while we are still fighting COVID-19, is absolutely worth the effort. If we all do our part, we look forward to a wonderful summer of BYEP connection and getting outside while we grow inside!
A few reminders:
Do not send your child to BYEP if:
They have tested positive for COVID-19
They are showing any symptoms of COVID-19
Fever
Dry cough
Trouble breathing
Body aches
Very sore throat
Fatigue that comes on quickly
Gastrointestinal problems like nausea or diarrhea
If your child has any of these, especially a fever, call your doctor
They have been in contact with someone who has tested positive
They or someone they live with have been told to quarantine for any reason
They or someone they live with are awaiting COVID-19 test results
Please report any symptoms as soon as they appear to BYEP staff so we may be able to determine if your child was in contact with others.
If your child has seasonal allergies:
Communicate this with your child’s Program Manager prior to attending any BYEP events
Report common symptoms of your child’s allergies and if they take allergy medication. Common symptoms include:
Runny nose
Dry, tickly cough
Itchy or watery eyes
Congestion
No fever
If your child gets allergies every year, watch for symptoms that are different from what they’ve had before
In order for your child to participate in BYEP activities with seasonal allergies, there MUST be communication from a parent or guardian with your child’s Program Manager
If symptoms are present for COVID-19, and there is no communication from the parent or guardian, we will err on the side of caution and send your child home
Thank you for your help in keeping us all safe during these unique times!
Our friends at Windhorse are offering a FREE opportunity to area youth working with horses. Please contact Darcy directly if your child is interested.
