BYEP COVID-19 Update as of 3/16/20
Dear BYEP Mentors,
I’m sure you are aware of the development of COVID-19 across the world and in the State of Montana. As a result of the increased rate of infection, the CDC recently announced it’s recommendation to cancel events of more than 50 people for the next 8 weeks. In addition, Governor Steve Bullock announced the closing of Montana schools through March 27th as a precaution for students and families.
The spread of COVID-19 poses a significant threat to our participants, families, mentors and staff. As a result, BYEP has decided to take the following measures. Adventures will be canceled until further notice beginning March 22nd. Starting Monday 3/23, we will be transitioning to a remote style of program delivery. Expect a phone call check-in from your Program Manager next week. Participants and mentors can plan on keeping their regular time for weekly workshops that will take place online via a virtual meeting platform the week of 3/30. Our hope is to continue to keep our participants connected to BYEP and their circle of support in the coming weeks.
This situation places additional stress and pressure on the vulnerable population we serve, making it even more important for us to continue our support. It is my hope that you will continue mentoring with us through a remote platform through the end of the season if you are able.
Over spring break if you have any questions please call me directly. Robin Hill: Executive Director (406) 209-3204. After Spring Break, your program manager will continue to be your primary point of contact.
During these difficult times is when the strength of our BYEP family truly shines. We have navigated incredibly difficult times before and will continue to endure and support one another.
Thank you and stay tuned for further announcements as this situation develops. If you have any questions over Spring Break, feel free to call me directly. (406)-209-3204.
Sincerely,
Robin Hill
