BYEP Summer Programs Update
Summer is in full swing here at BYEP! Participants have been getting out and about in the greater Gallatin Valley experiencing everything from disc golf to ziplining to outdoor climbing and our Ascent group ventured out into the Upper Missouri Breaks for a 5-day Canoe Trip! Check out the photos below to see what we’ve been up to:
A note from our Program Director:
Hello Parents + Guardians!
Here we are, already in week 5 of our summer program season! As you know, we've transitioned over to fully in-person programming and the building is full of happy faces. As we slowly get 'back to normal', I want to share our expectations when it comes to attendance at BYEP. I want to see all kids successfully complete our program while still honoring the group experience. When participants miss scheduled BYEP workshops and adventures, they miss out on amazing opportunities, on supporting their group members, and learning new skills to help them grow.
In order for your participant to keep their BYEP scholarship, we expect that they attend no less than 70% of workshops and adventures this season. That equates to no more than 4 unexcused absences over the course of our 12 week season. If your participant has more than 4 unexcused absences, they may be in danger of losing their scholarship, and will need to meet with both their Program Manager and the Program Director to create a plan that meets our attendance requirement.
Examples of excused absences are planned vacations, involvement with camps or sports, family emergencies, and illness. The sooner you inform your participant's Program Manager about these planned absences the better! Excused absences do not count against our attendance policy. Examples of unexcused absences are missing the bus or pick-up, forgetting about workshop or adventure. While we understand that emergencies do happen, not communicating with your participant’s Program Manager prior to missed workshop or adventure will also result in an unexcused absence.
Please reach out to me directly at (970) 231-4809 if you have any questions about attendance.
