Welcome to Summer!

Dear Summer 2021 Mentor Team,

Thank you all for making the commitment to your community, our program, participants, and yourselves to join us for the Summer Season at BYEP. There are many important components to your mentorship at BYEP- making connections, helping participants grow, and having fun. Additionally, we lean on our mentor team for logistical support to help make all of our workshops and adventures run smoothly and safely. Below are some ways you can support the day to day operations of our program:

  • Following our COVID-19 Protocols, and helping our participants follow it too!

  • Driving help:

    • Arrive at 3:00pm on your workshop night to help pick up participants from school

    • Arrive at 12:00pm on our combined workshops/adventure days to help pick up our Belgrade and Four Corners participants

    • Logistical support on Sunday adventure days - check our online calendar for details (instructions on how to access this below)

Program Calendar Instructions:

-Go to www.byep.org/programcalendar

-Choose either Traverse/Approach/Crux depending on what grade level you’re working with

-Click on the date of the adventure on the calendar

-Click on the blue calendar title (ex: “Approach (9) Adventure - Hike!”)

-Scroll down until you see Mentor Instructions

Mentor Professional Development Opportunities:

We are so excited to announce that we will have three opportunities for you all to learn additional skills that will help you grow in your mentor role. Mark your calendar for the following dates:

  • 5:00- 7:00, June 27th

  • 2:30- 4:30, July 11th

  • 5:00- 7:00, July 25th

If you have anything you are really excited to get more information on (DEI, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, etc.) or a community contact that you think would be interested in presenting to our mentor crew, please reach out to Program Director, Brittany DeKoch.

Now Hiring:

We are hiring an office assistant to provide ~8 hours of support a week to BYEP operations for the summer season. Check out the job description if this sounds like something you’d be interested in!
