This Week at BYEP...

In adventures this week:

  • Approach participants made pinch pots in their Zoom adventures.

  • Crux participants mountain biked at Big Sky. Thank you to Gallatin Alpine Sports for the bike rentals!

In workshops this week:

  • 9th graders explored their identities while learning about intellectual wellness. Intellectual means staying curious and open to learning new things. Engage in creative activities, think critically, be aware of social and political issues, or seek out new challenges.

  • 10th graders learned how to have self-compassion and explored the idea of spiritual wellness. Spiritual wellness is a process of understanding beliefs, values, and ethics that help guide your life. Whatever your preferred approach, spending time asking and exploring your spiritual side can help you find your meaning in life.

  • 11th graders also explored the ideas of spiritual wellness as it relates to self-love and solitude. They examined this idea through a self-love jenga initiative.

  • 12th graders identified anxitiies and doubts they have about the future while learning about the wellness domain of future wellness. Financial Wellness - Taking steps to live within your financial means and living in, and planning for, future financial health. You can do this by planning financially, creating a budget, and learning to be a good consumer.

Thank you for your commitment to helping keep BYEP participants, mentors, and staff healthy during these unique times by keeping your participants home if they have been exposed to COVID or are feeling sick! We’re all in this together!
