This Week at BYEP...
We are halfway through our Winter season and what a season of fun, growth, and learning it’s been so far! We are really proud that we’ve been able to keep our programs running safely and smoothly in-person, online, and up at Big Sky! Check out the photos below to see what our participants and mentors have been getting up to this month:
All of us on the BYEP staff wanted to extend an additional note of gratitude for all the work our participant’s families are doing to follow our Covid-19 Guidelines. If you are not familiar with them, they are listed below. If your child has been exposed at BYEP and needs a letter of exposure or if you have any questions or concerns in regards to Covid-19 and BYEP please contact Program Director, Brittany DeKoch at (970) 231-4809.
BYEP COVID-19 GUIDELINES:
Require mask-wearing at all times at BYEP HQ and in our vehicles and buses. If a program participant or visitor to the building does not have a mask, one will be provided. When outdoors, mask-wearing is required if individuals are not able to keep physical distance of 6 feet from one another.
Screen all visitors, volunteers, and participants prior to entering the building or a BYEP vehicle. Screening includes: temperature check, questions about exposure, and symptoms.
Require all visitors, volunteers, and participants to use hand sanitizer upon entrance to the BYEP HQ or vehicle.
Adhere to social distancing guidelines of 6 feet distance between individuals.
Sanitize highly-touched surfaces, workshop rooms, shared community spaces, and vehicles on a daily basis.
Request that staff, mentors, and participants stay home if they are sick.
Stay home from BYEP if:
If you have any COVID-19 symptoms (including fever of 100.4 °F or greater, cough, shortness of breath, diarrhea, fatigue, headache, muscle aches, nausea, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, vomiting, etc. within the past 7 days). You are encouraged to get a COVID-19 test.
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, you will need to stay home and isolate until:
10 days after your symptoms started AND
24 hours without a fever and not taking any medications to lower fever, such as Tylenol or ibuprofen AND your symptoms have improved
If you have been in contact with anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19, quarantine can end after Day 10 (time from exposure) without testing IF no symptoms have been reported during daily monitoring
If you are awaiting your own COVID-19 test results, for any reason.
Document attendance, in our vehicle logs, and at BYEP HQ, in the event we need to provide contact tracing data to the Gallatin County Health Department.
Restrict the use of shared community spaces.
Provide individual pre-packaged snacks for program participants.
Limit visitors in order to keep our building safe for participants.
Fill vehicles only to 50% capacity.
If a youth, volunteer, or staff member is suspected to have COVID-19, we will immediately isolate (away from other youth, volunteers, and staff) and send home as soon as safely possible and recommend a test for COVID-19 prior to returning to BYEP. If needed, provide the health department a list of individuals that were in contact with the symptomatic person at BYEP.
People who have been identified as a close contact that have tested positive for COVID-19 within the past 3 months and recovered do not have to quarantine or get tested again as long as they do not develop new symptoms.
People who develop symptoms again within 3 months of their first bout of COVID-19 may need to be tested again if there is no other cause identified for their symptoms.
